Border Harriers is a membership club run by its members, for its members…
All our coaches, officials and committee members are volunteers.
We are affiliated to England Athletics and Northern Athletics and on the whole follow UKA policy in what we do.
Becoming a member of Border Harriers is open to everyone regardless of ability or experience. We have great coaches who will encourage you whatever your ambition. Amongst our members we have Olympians and British record holders but by far the majority are athletes who are in the sport to join like minded people, giving themselves the opportunity to improve and to challenge themselves as part of a team.
Whether you want to improve your parkrun time or throw the javelin for the first time we can help you.
We train at the Sheepmount on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and most Saturday mornings. The club is a member of a number of track and field leagues, cross country leagues and enters the northern and national road relays along with an array of local and national road races.
Border Harriers organise the famous annual Brampton to Carlisle 10 mile road race, the country’s oldest race of its kind.
