Brampton to Carlisle 10 Mile Road Race

The Wm Coulthard & Co Ltd Brampton to Carlisle 10 Mile Road Race organised by Border Harriers & Athletic Club is the oldest 10 mile road race in the United Kingdom. The first race was completed in 1952. The course takes the competitors from Brampton to Carlisle via the B6264 and is fast and accurately measured by a UK Athletics accredited measurer. Previous winners include Steve Cram and Ron Hill.

 

Course records are Men: Nick Sloan – 45min 50 sec.  Women: Angie Pain – 51min 50sec.

This year (2013) is the sixty second running of the Brampton to Carlisle 10 mile Road Race and incorporates the Northern Athletics 10 mile Road Race Championships. A brief race history can be found Here.


Stephen Unwin Memorial 10k Road Race

The Stephen Unwin Memorial 10k Road Race is named after Stephen Unwin who was a member of Border Harriers & Athletic Club and tragically collapsed and died during the 1984 Cumbrian Run.

 

The race is now part of the Carlisle Run Day, which is organised by GB Event Management Ltd with the help of Border Harriers & Athletic Club.

Great Cumbrian Run Half Marathon

The Great Cumbrian Half Marathon is organised by Carlisle Leisure Ltd with help of Border Harriers & Athletic Club. The first Cumbrian run was staged in 1983.

Track and Field Open Meetings

Border Harriers & Athletic Club organise two track and field open meetings each year, with the first at the beginning of the season and the second at the end of the season. The open meetings are for all age groups from Under 9’s to Seniors.

 

The results of the open meetings from 2013 are available now.  April and August.
