Oliver Dustin.

Many Congratulations to our 800m ace, and European Under 20 champion Oliver Dustin, who beat Seb Coe's Under 23 record in Nice on 12th June with a performance described by Athletics Weekly as the 'shock result of the year' and a sensational breakthrough at 800m!

The Border vest has rarely looked better as the 20 year old Birmingham University undergraduate burst to the front of the field coming into the home straight to clock 1:43.83, improving his previous best of 1:45.71. Coe's record of 1:43.97 had stood since 1978.

Oliver's time is the fastest outdoor in the world this year and the fifth fastest all-time in Britain.

France's Gabriel Tuel chased him home in 1:44.44 with British international Elliott Giles third in the Olympic qualifying time of 1:45.05.

Congratulations also to Coach Graeme Mason.
